Day 107:
Today was an especially good day for you, Son! Today you were under the caring and watchful eyes of not only MeMeow, but also her sister- your Great Aunt Mag! See Boy'O, both MeMeow and Aunt Mag are registered nurses and with your Inguinal Hernia surgery fast approaching (Monday April 2nd), it's all-hands-on-deck for your care and attention! It also so happens that your Great Aunt is completely in love with you, as any family member would be, but she's also got a high soft spot for babies. In fact, Aunt Mag worked in a NICU ward for some time, so as far as the medicine is concerned having two registered nurses in the house, and one who's spent time working in the neonatology field, Mommy and me get the piece of mind that you'll receive expert care at home, both pre and post-op.
The report from both of the Smith girls was very good... I got a detailed account of your feedings, how much time you spent awake and asleep, your diaper action (always lovely to hear about your movements, Boy'O), and quite simply, just how generally easy you were to manage today... And of this I have no doubt. Because I've actually watched MeMeow and Aunt Mag compete over who gets to hold and spoil you more, Son. The Lion Heart is never at a loss for his affectionate and loving minions.
As I write this post, all the girls are upstairs giving you a bath and just generally enjoying you. And why wouldn't they? What's not to enjoy?? Me, I look forward to my one on one time with you at midnight tonight, Son. You're always so pleasant at your 12 o'clock feeding, and I always come into your room with whatever the last song I heard was, and hum it to you why you take down your bottle. Everybody wins! You get sleepy in song and grog, and I get to relax with you in my arms... You know Conor, life truly is about the little things.
I love you, Boy'O. See you at midnight.
Love,
Dad
